Vanessa E Wyche, arguably our most senior woman in STEM, talks about her plans to reach Mars with Robyn Foyster

Vanessa Wyche is a NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration Head of Johnson Space Center who has been recognised for her work in STEM, and for being the first Black woman to lead a NASA Center. What she’s known for: 

  • Leading NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas
  • Being a strong advocate for STEM education
  • Serving on the board of trustees for the American Institute of Physics Foundation
  • Being a member of the National Academy of Engineering
  • Receiving the Presidential Rank Award and multiple NASA medals
