This is a very short week for me. I’m going to Problogger conference at this end of this week in Queensland. Coming from Sydney, I am not very familiar with the Gold Coast, so as usual I jumped into my iPhone getting my favourite travel apps. 4 best travel apps to go to a blogger conference
This year this is the 5th Annual training event helping bloggers build profitable blogs. I can’t wait to go to this event, this is a first for me, and I’m very looking for learning from experienced international and local speakers.
The first thing you need to do, is to book a plane ticket. I downloaded Jetstar Free app in my phone.
I booked my ticket for a really good price. I take my carrying bag inside of the plane, so the only thing I am a bit stressed about is to fit all my great new outfits inside of a small suitcase of 10 kilos!
With JetStar app in my phone, I can:
– Check in my flight with a click
– Choose my seats
– Have my flight receipt in my phone, no need to print on paper. I just need to show my phone at the airport
– One more thing: having your airline company app in your phone, is a good way also to check if your flight will be delayed or not
Of course if you don’t travel with Jetstar, download the airline company you will fly with.
Now you flight is booked, naturally you will need a place where to sleep. There are many hotels apps available, but my favourite is hotels.com
To me Hotels.com app is the easiest app for browsing hotesl in the aera where you want to stay. Back to ProBlogger event it’s happening at the Gold Coast.
– With no time you will see a great hotels selection’s
– Hotel review
– Guest reviews
– Hotel map, very handy to check to be a walking distance from the event
– Hotel Facilities
– What you need to know
– Policies & fees
Hotels.com send me updates via email about my room booking. I simply love it.
When you don’t know the area where you will stay, it’s always wise to get an app to inform you about the closest bars & restaurants. Again there is a multitude app’s choice for that. The one I used all the time even for Sydney is Yelp.
Top-ranked Yelp for your iPhone or iPad has over 50 million reviews on businesses worldwide — all in the palm of your hand. Whether you are looking for a pizzeria that is open now or a coffee shop nearby, Yelp is your local guide to finding just the place to eat, shop, drink, relax, and play.
This app is a must have when you travel to a new place.
and to finish, travel in style! I hate waiting indefinitely for a rude taxi drivers in the rain. My solution: Uber.
– They are always on time, with the GPS inside of the app you know how far they are
– You don’t handle cash – as you pay with the app via Paypal
– May be it’s just me but also I think they are more professional and more friendly
Voila this is my personal selection of the 4 best apps to go to a blogger conference or a weekend away. Also if you are a bit bored in airport or taxi, here a travel quiz to kill time and to stimulate your brain: do this quiz created by Travel Money Oz.
If you know other good travel apps, please leave a comment. Bon voyage!
