The graphic design company, Canva, has announced seven new and exciting additions to the Canva range that aim to not only make designing easier, more accessible and creative; but to also bolster education, all while supporting the community’s non-profits.
1# Canva Video
Canva’s hub for video creation where users can create and edit professional looking videos for free. Canva users will have access to thousands of video templates, easy-to-use editing tools, free animations and content including music and stock images; with the handy addition of ‘Storyboarding Design’, a feature that allows you to preview your work as you’re making it.
2# Canva Apps
Skyrocket your design and publishing potential by making use of tools that can make the process easier than ever before.
Right now, 30+ apps are available including Google Drive, Dropbox, Instagram and PhotoMosh.
3# Canva for Education
Currently a beta program for Australian school, Canva for Education includes ‘Canva Classroom’ – a space where teachers and students can collaborate and share work. And with up to 100GB of storage, you’re pretty much set.
Canva for Education also provides educators with thousands of templates and teaching materials for their students, such as worksheets, educational posters and reports.
There’s also curated content including over 2 million images and an integration with GSuite and Google Classroom.
Students and educators no longer need to spend hours learning complex and expensive design tools, or struggling to find access to effective teaching materials and templates.” – Georgia Vidler, Director of Product, Canva
4# Canva Button
Teaming up with Humanitix, the not-for-profit organisation, to make adding events graphics easier. The Canva Button – an API (Application Program Interface) – will allow Humanitix event hosts to design event banners from within the Humanitix platform.
5# Pledge 1%
Melanie Perkins, Canva’s CEO and cofounder, has announced Canva’s commitment to the Pledge 1% movement. Striving towards making the world a better place, Canva will pledge 1% of their equity, 1% of their profit, 1% of their time and 1% of their resources.
Companies have a huge role to play in helping to shape the world we live in and we feel like the 1% Pledge is an incredible program” – Melanie Perkins, CEO & Cofounder, Canva
6# Canva Desktop
There’s nothing more frustrating than being on the move and unable to do your work because you don’t have WiFi. Thanks to Canva Desktop, you can design offline, wherever, whenever.
7# Design Lab
Set to launch next year, users will be able to create their designs, upload their work and print out the final product right from within the design lab kiosks. With same day pick up, this is an addition that makes bringing your creation to life easy and simple.
