‘Donate Now, Pay Later’: Cancer Chicks Becomes First Australian Charity to Offer Afterpay Donations

In an Aussie first, young women battling cancer will soon have a little more support – thanks to a big shift in how we give. Cancer Chicks, a not-for-profit organisation supporting young women with cancer and chronic illnesses, has just become the first Australian charity to offer Afterpay as a donation option. This means you can now donate now, pay later.

The move marks the official entry of Afterpay, Australia’s most well-known buy-now-pay-later platform, into the not-for-profit sector. Through a new partnership with SupporterHub, a leading CRM for charities, Afterpay has made its flexible, interest-free payment option available for charitable donations for the very first time.

The goal? To empower budget-conscious Aussies – especially Millennials and Gen Z – with a new, accessible way to give. It’s a simple idea: if you can use Afterpay to buy shoes or groceries, why not use it to support a cause that really matters?

Generosity, just got more flexible with Supporter Hub partnering with AfterPay

And, for Cancer Chicks, whose work helps young women in the toughest moments of their lives, the timing couldn’t be better. “Afterpay is a trusted and widely used platform among our core demographic of young women,” says Co-Founder and Director Michele Molnar, who, fun fact, happens to be the mother of Afterpay’s very own founder, Nick Molnar. “This collaboration offers a powerful opportunity to strengthen our fundraising efforts – enabling supporters to make meaningful contributions in more accessible, flexible ways.”

With donations split across four manageable installments, the hope is that more Australians will feel empowered to give. Even when money’s tight. Beyond boosting donations, the partnership also opens the door for Cancer Chicks to tap into Afterpay’s app and affiliate network, helping grow their community and reach more people in need.

The initiative is also a game-changer for the not-for-profit sector more broadly. SupporterHub CEO Peter McCormick says the platform is excited to help charities connect with donors in more dynamic ways. “We believe this partnership will transform how Australian charities engage with donors, ensuring more support for the incredible work they do.”

So whether you’re giving $10 or $100, your impact matters – and now, you can do it your way. Charities interested in integrating Afterpay can head to supporterhub.com to learn more.
