A Six Year Old … And His Mother … Review the New Belkin Lilo & Stitch Kids Headphones

I take my status as “the cool aunty” very seriously. Discipline is a responsibility for full-time parents. My role is to spoil my little nephews with whatever their latest demand might be (Chocolate cake for breakfast? Of course, Luca!) and then hand them back to my sister to deal with the aftermath. So, when I got the chance to review the new limited edition Belkin Lilo & Stitch kids headphones, I passed them straight to my “I just watched the new movie and loved it”-six-year-old nephew. Then, just to prove to his mother that I wasn’t plying her offspring with junk got my sister to share her thoughts. And, even she couldn’t complain about this one.

Leo, Age Six, Headphone Expert

My name is Leo and I’m six years old. My birthday was in March. I like dinosaurs, Pokemon and the Parramatta Eels. Last week, my mum and dad took me to watch Lilo & Stitch at the movies. He’s my favourite alien because he’s blue and funny. When Aunty gave me these Stitch headphones, I said “Woah” because they look so cool. They have pictures of Stitch on them and stickers you can put anywhere! I put one on my lunchbox. Mum didn’t let me put them on our dog fang.

I used the headphones when I watched Lilo & Stitch again on the iPad and it sounded like I was inside the movie. The sound is super good and not too loud, so my ears didn’t feel funny. And, you can make them louder or quieter by pressing the buttons on the side! I also listened to my favourite songs from YouTube and it was nice because my little brother Luca couldn’t annoy me and ask to listen.

I wore them for ages – like forever – and they didn’t hurt. And,I also talked to Dad on the phone with them, and he could hear me even though I was hiding in a blanket fort.

My favourite part is that they are blue (the best colour) and have Stitch on them. I want to wear them all the time, even in the bath. But Mum said no.

Leo’s Mum, The Rule Enforcer

As a parent, I’m generally sceptical about kid tech. Too loud, too fragile, too gimmicky – and always needing a recharge. But I’ll admit it: the Belkin SoundForm Mini On-Ear Wireless Headphones (Stitch Limited Edition) surprised me. In a good way.

Let’s start with the most important part: volume safety. These headphones are capped at 85dB, which means Leo can’t accidentally (or deliberately) blast his eardrums while watching YouTube or following his reading app. That’s a major win for little ears.

Second: battery life. These headphones go up to 30 hours on a single charge. That’s basically a week of daily use without needing to plug in – which, as every parent knows, is the difference between a functional device and a meltdown waiting to happen. And, when they do need a quick top-up, 10 minutes on USB-C gives you three hours of playback

They’re also durable. Leo’s already dropped them twice, spilled apple juice near them, and twisted them into some very creative positions while dancing. They survived. No cracks, no complaints.

The Bluetooth 5.3 pairing was seamless. I set it up in under a minute. And, while Leo’s too young to appreciate it, I also love that the headphones are made with recycled plastic and come in plastic-free packaging. Small steps, big impact.

Design-wise, they’re cute without being overly cutesy. Stitch fans will love the fun details, and the stickers are a thoughtful touch that give kids some ownership over their gear.

And finally, these aren’t just fun accessories. With a built-in mic and compatibility with learning apps, they’re ideal for school use, virtual learning, or long car rides with audiobooks. At $59.95 they’re a fair price for a premium, kid-safe audio experience.

Final verdict

Leo says: “They’re the best and I love Stitch and I’m never taking them off ever again, even when I’m asleep!”
Mum says: “If you have a child aged 3 and up who’s into music, movies or learning apps, these headphones are a fun pick.”
Cool Aunty says: “You’re welcome.”
