A Fun Way to Floss: No Strings Attached

I’ve never been the most diligent flosser. String floss feels fiddly, awkward and frankly, kind of ineffective. (Even if my technique is to blame!) But, once I got my hands on – (or rather sunk my teeth into! ) with the Oclean W10 Water Flosser and the X Lite Sonic Electric Toothbrush, my daily oral routine started feeling less like a chore and more like a sleek little self-care ritual. Here’s how they brushed up.

Oclean W10 Water Flosser

If you’ve ever brushed off flossing because it feels annoying or uncomfortable (guilty), the W10 will give you something to smile about. It’s cordless, compact and so easy to use that I didn’t miss a day. You just fill the 200ml tank, select one of five modes – I started with ‘Gentle’ and now rotate between ‘Standard’ and ‘Pulsating’ – and go. It delivers 1,400 high-frequency water pulses per minute, which sounds intense, but feels more like a targeted massage for your gums.

What I really love is that it’s waterproof, so I can use it in the shower. And, the battery lasts up to 30 days. I took it away for a long weekend and didn’t even think about charging it. Plus, it comes with four different nozzles (including one for braces and one for your tongue), which made me realise I hadn’t been cleaning nearly as well as I thought.

Oclean X Lite Sonic Electric Toothbrush

If you’ve never used a smart toothbrush before, this might just be the one that’ll convert you. The Oclean X Lite is lightweight, quiet (you can barely hear it running), and gives you real-time feedback via a colour screen built right into the handle. I didn’t think I needed that – until it showed me which zones I missed while brushing. Oops.

The sonic motor is seriously powerful, with up to 84,000 movements per minute. It gives you that just-left-the-dentist feeling after every brush. And, it’s not just all cool-tech and no comfort. I’ve started adjusting its four modes and 32 intensity levels depending on whether I was brushing before bed or in a morning daze.

The battery is just as impressive as the flosser’s. One full charge lasts up to 35 days, and it recharges via USB-C in just a few hours. The brush head itself is also a standout: W-shaped with DuPont diamond bristles that really hug the curve of your teeth.

A plaque attacking power pair

These two gadgets have completely overhauled the way I approach oral care. The W10 flosser makes cleaning between my teeth easier and more effective than I ever thought possible. No string, no mess, just a refreshingly deep clean. And the X Lite brush feels like a personalised dental assistant that keeps me on track without being preachy.

Together, they’ve turned brushing and flossing into a routine I actually enjoy. My breath’s fresher, my teeth feel smoother, and tooth be told my mouth has never felt better.
