Since 2007, Drop Dead Gorgeous Daily (DDGDaily) has been the Australian women’s real girl guide to making life more gorgeous & fun – the home of doable beauty, bake-able cakes, and all the trend & style advice you’ll ever need. It’s with pleasure I did this interview with Kate McKibbin aka The Boss Lady, who answered my questions with cheekiness and fun. Let’s explore how Kate is playing the technology field.
Drop Dead Gorgeous Daily & The Technology Field
Can you give us a little background on your career to date?
Before launching DDGDaily.com in 2007 I worked as an online editor and contributor for a whole bunch of women’s glossies both here and in the UK including Shop Til You Drop, New Woman (RIP), Grazia.com.au (also RIP), Cosmopolitan UK, and I even had a column in FHM (… I might be jinxed!). I also had a little stint in the world of online advertising (but that really wasn’t for me!).
And before all that I was listing shopping as my number one hobby from about the age of five. I am probably one of Australia’s biggest shopaholics, and was even crowned as one of Anthill’s 30 under 30 entrepreneurs for my efforts in 2010.

Drop Dead Gorgeous Daily has been the Australian woman’s real girl guide to making life more gorgeous & fun since 2007. We are all about doable beauty, bake-able cakes, and having fun with wear-able style.
Which kind of smartphone do you have?
A gold iPhone… I’m a sucker, I know!
The 3 most persons that you call the most?
My husband, the local Thai takeaway and my dad (I email everyone else!).
What is your last SMS?
My husband’s Nan is in hospital right now, I just messaged to see how she was.
Name 3 apps you use everyday
Instagram, Dropbox and Password Keeper.
What do you have as a wallpaper?
It’s a weird abstract paint splatter thing. I found it on Pinterest.
What is your last tweet?
I don’t really tweet!
The last picture you pinned on Pinterest?
We pin at least a hundred pins on Pinterest each day, via the web app Viral Tag (means we can schedule them in advance), so not really sure!
What is your last photo taken?
I rescued a baby bird who had fallen into our courtyard a few weeks ago (and the nest was too high to get him back into it), so the last photo was of him now with all his feathers sitting on my shoulder.
The latest music album uploaded?
Florence & The Machine.
What is your last Facebook’s status update?
“Mickey Rourke just shat on me!” Things I thought I’d never say (and have now said twice!) #mickeyrourkeisabird
