Google Pixel 3 And Pixel 3 XL: Specs, Availability, And Pricing

After months of online leaks, they’re finally here! Google today announced their long-awaited smartphones – the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL – which have a few very interesting additions to the previous Pixel 2. The new smartphones were released as part of Google’s new suite of devices (#madebyGoogle) which include the phones, the Google Home Hub, the Pixel Slate, the Pixel Stand, and other accessories.

Let’s look at the basics of the two phones.

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL specs

Other than the screen dimensions (the Pixel 3 is 5.5 inches while the 3 XL is 6.3 inches) and the sad-but-true notch on the 3 XL, the two phones have identical specs:

  • OS: Android 9.0 (Pie)
  • Processor: Snapdragon 845, Qualcomm SDM845 (4×2.8 GHz + 4×1.7 GHz)
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Storage: 64GB or 128GB
  • Cameras: 12.2 MP dual-pixel rear camera. 8 MP front camera.
  • Battery: 2915 mAh.
  • Fast charging, especially with the new Pixel Stand – just 15 minutes gives you up to 7 hours of go.
  • Wireless charging.
  • Super-fast fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone.
  • Colours: Just Black, Clearly White, Not Pink (which is, erm, pink).

The new phones have made a range of improvements to the camera (with features like Top Shot, Night Sight and Photobooth) and the speakers. The use of AI for Google Assistant and Google Lens continues to be top notch.

Availability: The Pixel 3 and 3 XL will be available for pre-order today and will be on shelves from November 1 at Optus, Telstra and Vodafone, as well as JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and the Google Store.

Pricing: The Pixel 3 RRP starts at $1199, while the Pixel 3 XL RRP starts at $1349.
