GoPro’s latest models cover everything from features to improve stability, audio, lighting and image quality; all the components that transform regular videos and photos into professional grade shots.
It’s been 15 years since the first GoPro camera, and from the start, we’ve been about enabling people to share their passions whether they’re fuelled by adrenaline or artistry (…) HERO8 Black, the Mods and MAX redefine what’s possible with a camera.” said GoPro Founder and CEO Nick Woodman.
HERO8 Black
- Last model’s Hypersmooth 1.0, was great, but Hypersmooth 2.0 is even better. Hypersmooth 2.0 works to drastically improve stabilisation with the inclusion of the new feature – Boost – as well as its functioning in all resolutions and frame rates.
- The HERO8 gives you more options than ever to explore when filming. You can switch from a selection of four different lenses: Superview, Wide, Linear and Narrow. Pick the one that suits the shot and be creative with it.
- The TimeWarp feature has also been improved with TimeWarp 2.0. Now there is the option of automatic speed selection, or user can decide to speed it up or slow things down by simply tapping.
- The HERO8 also includes a SuperPhoto feature along with a much improved HDR. What this does is make your action shots pop in terms of colour and sharpness, generally making your image that much more lively and detailed.
- LiveBurst is another feature that expands your range of possibilities. This mode captures footage 1.5 seconds before and after you hit the shutter, meaning that you can choose the perfect image from either 90 still images, or you can just keep the 3-second 4K video.
- Users finally have access to a Night Lapse video mode in either 4K, 2.7K, 1440P or 1080P, to capture all the details of the night.
- Now harnessed with three mics, the audio quality is made to sound completely natural and conveniently block out wind noise, even at the fastes of speeds.
- It’s sometimes difficult to not mess your GoPro up in rough areas like the rocky mountains. The HERO8 knows all about rough, and can definitely take a hit, it can also dive down to 10m in the water.
- And, understandably, we don’t always want to have to stop recording or stop what we’re doing mid-action in order to change a mode or activate one. Now with over 14 voice commands, the HERO9 listens to what you want, when you need. “GoPro, start recording”.
The HERO8 Black is available to preorder for AUD$599 with the inclusion of a free 32GB SD card.
GoPro MAX
Like the HERO8 Black, the MAX is water and rugged proof, has HyperSmooth capabilities (called MAX HyperSmooth), four different lenses with the new addition of MAX SuperView (the widest lens yet), time lapse capabilities (called MAC Time Lapse) which allows for users to capture in 360 and HERO modes. In HERO mode, you can even drop in and out of real time!
- What’s inherently new to the GoPro MAX is the addition of features like Reframe which allows users to transform 360 footage into videos or even photos that can be edited from your phone in the app.
- On the subject of 360, the MAX model has 360 audio as it captures sound from your surrounding environment, all while blocking out wind noise. Perfect for vlogging.
- PowerPano is another addition to your already packed list of features which gives you another dimension to your shots. Completely distortion-free 270 degree angle shots makes for some very impressive results. You can even take panoramic selfies.
The GoPro MAX is available to preorder for AUD$799.95 with the inclusion of a free 64GB SD card.
