This Selfie Stick Will Cool Down Your Phone … Because #AussieSummer

Having amassed almost 80 international stamps on my passport, I have (mostly) mastered the art of packing the perfect carry-on bag – including a good selfie stick. But, before you roll your eyes and write off this gadget as a retro relic circa 2014, here’s why (alongside SPF and sandals) I will be adding the new JsAux MagCool Omni Grip to my next travel itinerary. Yes, even if it’s just a trip to the beach – where temps are predicted to hit 40+ degrees!

Shoot like a travel influencer (even if you’re not one)

Everyone loves a good holiday snap. But, not everyone (ahem, present company included) has quite mastered the art of capturing it. Fortunately, you don’t need to be a professional influencer to create pro-standard postable pics and videos with the JsAux MagCool Omni Grip.  Designed specifically for iPhone 13 to 16 Pro models, it features  ProRes video recording to transform your amateur videos into the kind of travel documentaries worthy of a film festival.

The OmniGrip also has a built-in M.2 SSD slot that supports up to 1TB of storage. Translation? You can record hours of high-quality video without worrying about running out of space. Plus, with data transfer speeds of 10Gbps, you can edit and upload your content faster than it takes to order a spicy margarita at the pool bar.

Hot temps … cool gadget

Summer travels often mean battling the heat, and your phone isn’t immune to the effects. Extended recording sessions in 4K can push your device to its limits, but the OmniGrip is on board with their version of the Slip, Slip, Slap sun protection memo. With advanced semiconductor cooling technology, this gadget keeps your phone running smoothly by lowering temperatures from 70ºC to 50ºC. Translation: no overheating, no interruptions, and no melting moments. Except for the ice cream you forgot to finish.

Magnetic magic

One of my favourite features of the OmniGrip is its MagSafe magnetic attachment. Forget fumbling with clamps and mounts; the magnetic connection is fast and secure. This ease of use means I can quickly attach or detach my phone, perfect for when I need to switch between capturing the perfect sunset and answering an urgent FaceTime call from home (“Yes, Mum, I packed enough socks”).

If you’re anything like me, you know the struggle of trying to find good lighting for your vacation selfies. The MagCool OmniGrip solves this with a built-in adjustable light in three tones – white, natural, and warm. Whether you’re shooting golden hour shots on the Amalfi Coast or capturing late-night street food adventures in Tokyo, this light has you covered.

Finally, recognising that nothing kills vacation vibes like a dead phone battery in the middle of a recording session the OmniGrip comes equipped with a powerful 6,000mAh battery that provides up to 2.5 hours of continuous power. That’s more than enough to capture a full day of adventures, from sunrise yoga – SPF covered of course – to less wholesome after-hours adventures  – should you wish to have proof of a Summer evening spent in Spain with too much sangria!

The JSAUX MagCool OmniGrip is currently live on Kickstarter.
