Microsoft is not playing around this year, announcing six new products at their latest annual Microsoft event.
What seems to be more than just improvements on the previous models, Microsoft is focusing on empowering users’ productivity and creativity like never before, and doing so on smaller, more mobile platforms for the first time.
Surface Laptop 3
Twice as fast as its predecessor, same slimness, and now with an all-day battery; they weren’t kidding when they said they wanted more productivity.
The addition of the 10th Gen Intel Core processor is undoubtedly what allows this new Surface laptop to reach the heights of efficacy that they’re now at, and is definitely a step-up to the 8th Gen. With two models, one in 13.5″ and 15″, unlike last year, there is now an option for a larger screen, and not only that, but a larger glass trackpad as well.
The addition of USB-A and USB-C ports is very convenient, and the fast charging means that your laptop can be at 80% in just one hour; even more convenient.
To top it off, the sound quality has been drastically improved on all fronts, whether it be for music-playing, conference calling, or Netflix watching; it’s bound to be crystal clear.
The Surface Laptop 3 will be available the 22nd of October in 13.5″ for AUS$1,699 and AUS$1,999 in 15″
Surface Pro 7 and Surface Pro X
Like the Surface Laptop 3, the Pro 7 is also twice as fast, thanks to the Intel 10th Gen Core processor, also equipped with USB-A and -C ports, and also has the fast charge capabilities. The Surface Pro 7 sticks to its roots with the design, and keeps the design that customers are familiar with.
The Pro X on the other hand sports a more tablet-like style at a mere 5.3 mm in thickness, or should I say thinness, and at just 730 grams or thereabouts, it’s the lightest and thinnest Surface Pro yet.
The Microsoft SQ1 processor makes it the fastest Qualcomm processor every created for a PC, with graphics that look simply splendid.
To top it off, the new signature keyboard (shown below) includes pen docking for the new Slim Pen.
The Surface Pro 7 will be available the 22nd of October at AUS$1,249 and the Pro X the 19th of October at AUS$1,699
Surface Neo
The new and exciting dual-screen device. It works like a PC at 13″, has a removable keyboard, supports full productivity apps as well as the Slim Pen.
As you can see, the device’s dual screen means that it is perfect for multi-tasking.
The Surface Neo is set to be available in the holidays of 2020.
Surface Duo
Similar to the Neo in terms of its able to do, the Duo distinguishes itself from the rest as the first Surface to fit in your pocket. The screens are super thin and when unfolded only makes up 8.3″.
Oh, and it makes phone calls.
The Duo will also be available in the holidays of 2020.
Surface Earbuds
Ever since Apple‘s AirPods, it seems that all the tech companies are doing the rounds with this concept, but these are genuinely intriguing, and definitely worth listening out for.
Comfortable and stable-fitting, the Earbuds feature touch and voice controls, as you’d expect with Microsoft. Producing Omnisonic sound and generally slickly designed, these look to be quite the addition to the Surface family.
If you’re an Android user, you can tap three times on the earbud to immediately play Spotify.
You can also access your Office 365 and calendar by voice, and even get live, on-screen captions and translations in PowerPoint. To make it even more alluring a product, users can enjoy all-day battery life with the included wireless charging case.
The Surface Earbuds are not yet available in Australia.
