Netatmo is a dedicated personal weather station that allows you to become a hobby weather person for your own home.

The Netatmo Home Weather Station is an ideal place to start. You can buy extra modules to gain more functionality, like a smart rain gauge, smart anemometer and additional smart indoor modules for extra rooms.

The Netatmo Personal Weather Station features an elegant and weatherproof aluminium design. It will blend in easily with all interior styles.

The box contains two weather stations (one for indoors and another for outdoors), a charging device, power plugs and adapters.

You’ll want to place the stations in spots where they don’t get direct sunlight or rain, or near an air-conditioning or heater device. It’s best to mount the outdoor device so that it is in a stable position.

Then you’ll want to download the dedicated app for Netatmo. You can use the app to analyse past readings, observe present weather data and forecast the future. You’ll be able to view data for temperature, humidity, air quality, barometric pressure, indoor sound meter, ventilation warning, weather forecast, historical data graphs and home automation scenarios.

Netatmo Personal Weather Station starts to provide useful data after a week or so of use. You’ll be able to see how your lifestyle patterns impact on the data. For example, we noticed an increase in CO2 levels after using the oven and while sitting in the living room.

We became more conscious of the need to open our windows regularly and ventilate the kitchen properly. High levels of CO2 can result in feeling lazy and lethargic.

You can share your data with other users. The Netatmo Weathermap community has a global map that shows (generally) where your fellow weather enthusiasts have a weather station.

You can view ultra-local weather measurements and receive text updates sent straight to your phone. If you pair it with other smart home devices, you can ask your Digital Voice Assistant (think Siri, Alexa) to turn on the lights and change the room temperature via an air-conditioner.

The Netatmo Personal Weather Station is a great introduction to measuring your indoor and outdoor environments in real-time and using your smartphone. You might be pleasantly surprised at how far smart home technology has advanced.
