Appointments that are best savoured include dessert dates, brunch with my best friend, and monthly manicures. However leading the list of things I’d rather get through sooner rather than later: cleaning my home! With 7000Pa HyperForce suction, the Roborock Qrevo S robotic vacuum cleaner was up to the challenge of all surfaces I tested it on – ranging from hardwood floors to thick carpets. It tackled pet hair, dirt, and even the sneaky dust that seems to appear out of nowhere. The all-rubber anti-tangle brush was a standout feature, especially for someone like me with hair that tends to shed – as it glides over surfaces, adapts to uneven textures, and minimises tangles. And, made my home feel cleaner than ever, without me having to lift a single (well-manicured) finger.
Mopping magic
One of my favourite features is the Dual Liftable Spinning Mops. These aren’t your average mops – they spin at 200 RPM, scrubbing away stains like a pro. Even better, the mops automatically lift when the vacuum moves from hard floors to carpets, so no soggy rugs here! It’s little touches like this that make the cleaning experience feel effortless. I didn’t have to stop and switch settings; the Qrevo S did all the thinking for me while I relaxed with a cup of tea.
If you’ve ever had a robotic vacuum get stuck under the couch or wedged behind a chair leg, you’ll appreciate the PreciSense Lidar Navigation. The Qrevo S creates a precise map of your home, expertly dodging obstacles and furniture. Unlike some robotic vacuums that seem to go rogue, this one stayed on track, navigating around without a hitch. It felt more like a helpful assistant than a machine, which really added to the overall convenience.
Dock and roll
The star of the Roborock Qrevo S show is its multifunctional dock. Not only does it charge the vacuum, but it also empties the dustbin, washes the mops, and dries them with warm air. Yes, you read that right. After each cleaning session, the dock handles the dirty work, so you don’t have to. I went weeks without thinking about vacuuming. And, every time I checked, the Qrevo S was freshly cleaned and ready to go.
The self-washing feature is like having a mini washing machine for your mops, using a thorough process that keeps everything hygienic. If you’ve spent hours rinsing and maintaining traditional mops, this feature is a breath of fresh air. Plus, the quiet air drying means no mouldy smells or dampness lingering around.
Customisable cleaning
By using the Roborock SmartPlan technology, I could customise cleaning schedules based on my life outside the home. Whether it was a quick tidy-up before rushing to make an appointment at the local salon, or a deep clean post-treatment to keep the zen going, I had total control over when and where the vacuum cleaned. It even works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri, so I could simply ask it to start.
The ability to target specific areas of the house was another game changer. Messy spots like the kitchen after cooking or the entryway after a rainy day were easily managed. Giving a little extra love to the areas that really needed it.
At $1,299 the Roborock Qrevo S is equivalent to approximately 26 manicures. But, given its ability to deliver a long-term cleansing solution that fits seamlessly into my lifestyle I’d seriously consider swapping my pro pedi for a DIY version in order to afford it.
