As the Harbour City flickers to life for its 15th anniversary, Vivid Sydney 2025 has once again proven why it’s Australia’s most dazzling and imaginative festival. Under this year’s theme, Dream, the city has transformed into a vibrant playground of light, music, ideas, and food – with over 200 events lighting up the CBD across five curated zones. Among the unmissable highlights is Samsung Electronics Australia’s latest immersive masterpiece: Space to Dream.

Returning as a Major Partner of Vivid Sydney, Samsung has raised the bar sky-high with a spectacular display that’s quite literally out of this world. Anchored at Cockle Bay, Space to Dream is a large-scale, interactive installation designed to transport festivalgoers into the very heart of their imagination – one luminous dreamscape at a time.

Three iridescent floating waterfalls rise from the harbour and transform the surrounding water into a canvas of shimmering visuals that dance across the surface and bathe the bay in brilliance. Moreover, by using cutting-edge pixel mesh technology to blur the lines between reality and illusion, Space to Dream poses a playful question: is this real. Or, just a mirage?

At its core, the activation responds to a surprisingly down-to-earth insight: research commissioned by Samsung reveals over half of Gen Z and Millennials feel too overwhelmed by daily responsibilities to pursue their dreams. With nearly 47% of Aussies spending 10+ hours a week on admin and chores, this installation is more than just Insta-friendly. It’s an invitation to slow down, reimagine, and reconnect with possibility.

The experience is powered by Galaxy AI and the newly launched Galaxy S25 series, showcasing how technology can help simplify life and clear space for creativity to shine. On land, the Dream Generator invites you to get hands-on with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, where Drawing Assist becomes a canvas for your inner dreamer. Strike a pose for surreal, AI-enhanced portraits, then head to the Dream Terrace for panoramic views of the bay and its glowing waterfalls.

But, the magic doesn’t stop there. In a surreal twist, festival-goers can actually walk on water – stepping out across the harbour for an up-close look at the towering structures as the dreamscape unfolds around them.

The proverbial light at the end of the tunnel of the display is a seven-minute water show created in collaboration with Australian talents Milan Ring and Chloe De Brito. It’s part meditation, part immersive performance – and pure, mesmerising magic.

Following the runaway success of Chorus of Light in 2024, Samsung has returned to Vivid Sydney with an even bolder, more immersive vision. Bigger. Brighter. Breathtaking. Space to Dream is a must-see highlight of this year’s Light Walk, and one of the festival’s most accessible, awe-inspiring experiences.
As Festival Director Gill Minervini says, “[Vivid] is a celebration of creativity, technology, big ideas and, above all else, connection.” And Space to Dream is a glowing embodiment of that vision – lighting the way toward a world where imagination has no limits.

With global icons like Martha Stewart and Jane Fonda gracing the city – Fonda will headline the next Wanderlust True North event at ICC Sydney Theatre on Sunday 15 June – Sydney is shining brighter than ever as a destination where inspiration meets imagination.
