Television Done Right: Hisense U8 and U7 Series

Hisense is known for its affordable, quality televisions. And, the new Hisense U8 and U7 Series is no exception.

Hisense U8 Series

The Hisense U8 Series has truly raised the bar for what we can expect from a mid-range television. From the moment I experienced the television, its exceptional picture quality overwhelmed me, regardless of the lighting conditions. The ULED technology, combined with the Quantum Dot enhancement, delivers vibrant and accurate colours that make every scene pop. The 4K resolution ensures sharp and detailed images, and the full-array local dimming provides deep blacks and impressive contrast, making it a joy to watch both daytime and nighttime scenes.

One of the standout features of the U8 Series is its brightness. Whether you’re watching in a well-lit room or a dark environment, the screen’s high brightness levels ensure that the picture remains clear and vivid. This TV also handles HDR content exceptionally well, bringing out the best in HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats.

The motion handling is smooth and fluid, perfect for fast-paced sports or action movies. The built-in speakers are surprisingly good, delivering clear and rich sound, though I’d still recommend pairing it with a good soundbar for a more immersive audio experience.

The smart TV interface is user-friendly and responsive, with quick access to all major streaming services. The remote control is intuitive and comes with voice control functionality, which is a nice touch. Overall, the Hisense U8 Series offers an outstanding viewing experience at a price point that is hard to beat.

Hisense U7 Series

The Hisense U7 Series is a fantastic option for those seeking excellent picture quality and smart features without breaking the bank. This TV offers impressive 4K resolution with ULED technology, providing clear and crisp images that are rich in detail. The Quantum Dot technology enhances the colour reproduction, ensuring vibrant and true-to-life visuals.

One of the most notable aspects of the U7 Series is its handling of HDR content. The TV supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision, and it excels at bringing out the nuances in both bright and dark scenes. The local dimming feature helps achieve deeper blacks and better contrast, making for an engaging and immersive viewing experience.

The U7 Series also impresses with its motion handling. Fast-moving scenes in sports and action movies are rendered smoothly, thanks to the effective motion enhancement technology. The sound quality is quite good for a TV in this price range, providing clear dialogue and decent bass, though. As with the U8, adding a soundbar can further enhance the audio experience.

The smart TV platform is easy to navigate and offers all the popular streaming services at your fingertips. The interface is smooth and responsive, making it easy to switch between apps and inputs. The remote control is straightforward and features voice control, adding an extra layer of convenience.

In summary, the Hisense U7 Series is a superb choice for anyone looking for high-quality performance and smart features at a reasonable price. It delivers excellent value with its outstanding picture quality, solid sound, and user-friendly smart TV features. Whether you’re watching movies, sports, or streaming your favourite shows, the U7 Series provides a top-notch experience.

Which TV is right for me?

Ultimately, both Hisense Hisense U8 and U7 Series models make excellent televisions for a modest price. I was impressed with the proprietary local processing capabilities that enable the TV to be ready in a matter of seconds from power-on. Their own software offers an unparalleled experience (for those without an Apple TV companion) readily able to select from the myriad of streaming and other applications built into the television.
