The 2021 Emmy Nominations Are Out

The Emmy nominations are out. Netflix’s The Crown and Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian both led the tally for most nominations for the Emmy Awards with 24 nominations each, followed by Marvel and Disney Plus’ WandaVision with 23 and Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale with 21.

The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, will be held on September 19 at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California, and broadcast in the U.S. by CBS and E.T.

The best drama category contenders include the fourth season of The Crown; the second season of The Mandalorian; a former best drama winner, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale; the debut season of Netflix’s Bridgerton; Amazon’s The Boys; FX’ Pose; HBO’s Lovecraft Country series and NBC’s This Is Us.

For comedy category, Apple TV+ hilarious Ted Lasso, starring Jason Sudeikis, was nominated and is favourite to win. Other nominations include The Flight Attendant and Hacks, Hulu’s PEN1 and three Netflix series: Cobra Kai, Emily in Paris and The Kominsky Method.
