World of Warcraft: Midnight Brings Player Housing to Life — First Look in Melbourne

Blizzard Entertainment is giving fans a first taste of one of World of Warcraft’s most anticipated new features: player housing.

Ahead of the expansion’s launch on 3 March 2026, Blizzard will host the World of Warcraft: Midnight Housing & Lounge Activation at ACMI, Federation Square, Melbourne. The event offers players and media a hands-on look at how housing will transform expression and community within Azeroth.

A First Look at WoW: Midnight

World of Warcraft: Midnight is the franchise’s 11th expansion and the second chapter of the Worldsoul Saga. It continues the epic battle between the forces of Light and the encroaching Void, with the fate of Azeroth’s world soul hanging in the balance.

Players will return to the iconic blood elf homeland of Quel’Thalas, now dramatically reimagined for Midnight. Alongside redesigned legacy zones, the expansion introduces four new major regions, each shaped by the Void’s growing influence.

Player Housing Comes to Azeroth

One of Midnight’s headline features is player housing, a long-requested addition from the WoW community.

Players will be able to own, customise, and decorate their own homes within Alliance or Horde neighbourhoods. These spaces are designed as social and expressive hubs, reflecting a player’s achievements, style, and journey through Azeroth.

Customisation comes through gameplay-driven rewards — from crafting and exploration to in-game achievements — encouraging long-term creativity. Neighbourhoods act as shared community spaces where players can visit friends, showcase designs, and participate in social activities, adding a new layer of immersion.

“At its heart, housing is about belonging, giving players a place in the world that truly feels like their own,” says Blizzard.
