As the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX as well as being a founder of several other big tech companies, it’s not hard to imagine that Elon Musk makes a good living for himself…to say the least. But exactly how well off is he?

When it comes to the top 20 richest CEOs in the world, Elon Musk ranks quite high in 9th place with his total wealth valued at approximately $873.3. billion.

Elon Musk by himself boasts a gargantuan net worth of up to $40 billion. Put him side by side with the top 20 richest Hollywood actors and he still makes 6x more than the 20 combined.

To put it into perspective, at the top of the list for the richest actors is Tom Cruise who has a net worth of just over half a billion. Elon Musk has a net worth valued at over 40x more than Tom Cruise. Watching Tom Cruise even trying to catch up to Elon Musk would be like watching Mission Impossible Seven.

George Clooney has a net worth of $500 million, Mel Gibson is at $425 million with a larger number of other actors at $400-million mark including Jack Nicholson, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan. All these incredibly talented actors and they’re nowhere near Musk.

Although this may seem an incredible stat – and it is – it does not necessarily go unjustified, after all, he started Tesla, was the co-founder of PayPal and is now planning to send private citizens into orbit via his spacecraft.
