Would You Trust AI To Find The Love of Your Life … Or, At Least a Date for Friday Drinks?

Cliche dating app intros featuring cheesy one-liners such as “Dating me is like ordering six chicken nuggets and finding an extra one at the bottom,” strictly belong in 2025. However, if you’re still struggling to craft the perfect profile – one without reference to pineapple on pizza debates – then Hinge is here to help save your love life. Or at least your Friday night plans. The wingman? The launch of Hinge Prompt Feedback, an Artificial Intelligence-powered feature designed to assist daters in crafting meaningful and authentic profiles. And prove that AI and dating may truly be a perfect match…

What is Hinge Prompt Feedback?

According to Hinge, a staggering 60% of users admit they struggle with what to write.

Stepping up to solve this problem is Hinge PromptFeedback – a new tool that offers personalised coaching to help users show up as their truest selves, ditching clichés in favor of creativity.

And, while it may not completely write out an entire romantic love story for you, it will certainly help polish your profile answers by providing three levels of advice to polish your profile answers:

  1. Great Answer. You nailed it. Keep it as is!
  2. Try a Small Change. A tweak could make it even better.
  3. Go a Little Deeper. Time to add more personality and detail.

The goal? To help users go beyond generic responses, sharing unique details about their lives and personalities that spark genuine connections. Importantly, the feedback remains private and non-intrusive, leaving you in complete control of your profile’s content.

Will AI and Dating be the biggest love story of 2025?

Why AI?

In 2024, Hinge found that “likes” on text Prompts were 47% more likely to lead to a date than likes on photos. Yet, despite this clear edge, 60% of Hinge users admitted they don’t know what to include in their responses. And, often defaulted to tired tropes or bare-bones answers as a result.

“AI is here to empower daters, not replace them,” explains Justin McLeod, Hinge’s founder and CEO. “Prompt Feedback offers coaching at a pivotal moment – when people are creating that crucial first impression on their profiles.”

Guided by insights from Hinge’s team of PhD behavioral scientists, the AI feature is crafted to nudge users toward answers that feel authentic, engaging, and perfectly “them.”

Digital Dating and AI: A perfect match?

Hinge has long been at the forefront of dating app innovation. From introducing profile Prompts in 2016 to pioneering Voice Prompts in 2021, the app consistently pushes boundaries to help users make real-life connections. Prompt Feedback is the latest leap, promising to turn those frustrating profile blank spaces into opportunities for meaningful self-expression.

And it couldn’t come at a better time. Logan Ury, Hinge’s Director of Relationship Science, explains, “The secret to finding a connection worth deleting the app for is crafting Prompt answers that highlight your unique quirks and authentic personality. A small shift in how you express yourself can lead to big results.”

So, whether you’re searching for “the one” or just someone who shares your taste in Friday-night cocktails, Hinge’s new AI feature might just be your perfect wingman.
