How Your Business Can Be Found On Google Search And Maps

Google My Business is a platform and app created for business owners to help them manage their online profile.

Did you know that 82 per cent of smartphone users turn to a search engine when looking for a local business?

This is why it’s important for your business to appear at the top of the search results. These results are typically made up of Google Ads (Paid), Google My Business listings and organic search results.

A Google My Business profile contains all of the essential information and is free to set up. It will usually include the website address, phone number and contact information, opening hours and address.

A Verified and well maintained (up-to-date) business profile receives 5 times more click-throughs.

There is a section dedicated to insights – where you can keep track of what’s working.

You can add photos of the interior and exterior of your business to help people find where you located and photos of your team to add trust factors. You may like to add posts, which could be helpful content like announcements, events, products, business information and offers.

You can also down the free Google My Business app to make updates on your smartphone and reply to messages and engage with your customers in real time.

Google My Business is a free and effective way to help you be found by the right customers.

Dont forget to post on GMB too. Moz did a study that showed posting consistently on GMB led to improved search rankings, and GMB posts are now showing in the map pack and map searches.

FYI if anyone needs a GMB post scheduler, OneUp is only $3/month for up to 10 accounts. Super helpful with GMB posts expiring every 7 days
