LUXit is an award-winning mobile beauty service in Sydney that delivers spray tanners, hairdressers, makeup artists and even masseuses to your door within the hour, seven days a week. It uses an app to book appointments, call or text to secure a booking on the go.
LUXit is the brainchild of entrepreneur Fabiola Gomez, who created LUXit in a bid to make beauty and wellbeing routines effortless and efficient. Women Love Tech asked Gomez to share some of her tips and tricks with us.
How has technology helped your business – both as a start-up and then helping to grow your business?
Technology is integrated into everything we do, and it allows us to have a virtual business and stay efficient at all times. We are always surrounded by a sea of phones and laptops (as well as other new technology we are working with!), and we can work anywhere and anytime.
A quote by Godfrey Reggio really sums it up for me, “It’s not that we use technology, we live technology.”
How do your customers use the app and how does it make life easier?
The LUXit App allows customers to create an account, select the service they would like (blow dry, spray tan or makeup) and choose their time. You can book a LUXit service on-demand or in advance. It’s convenient, premium service that can be booked in just minutes on a secure platform.
Fabiola Gomez – Founder of LUXitDo you have further plans to integrate other technology within the business?
I’m always evolving along with technology and LUXit will do the same. I’m committed to involving AR & VR into the business, and for our new LUXStyle styling services I’m looking to incorporating 3D body scanners for a truly customised experience. Skin analysing technology for our facials and more GPS tracking for our LUXit Partners are also in the works!
Can you share with us 4 of your favourite apps?
- Lifeprint – This app syncs up to my Lifeprint portable mini printer, which creates interactive photos. I really enjoying playing with this technology!
- You Are Creators – My favourite daily affirmation app!
- Uber – I was probably one of the first people to download this in Australia back in 2012 for fashion week.
- Lynda – A great app to brush up on quick courses and new skills.
Is there any advice you can share for start-ups in regards to which technology they shouldn’t live without?
You’ll see chatbots popping up across any service related business more and more, so I would definitely encourage any start-up to get some experience in this and find a way to work it into their platform.
