The OPPO Find N2 Flip Could Move Foldables From The Fringe To The Forefront

OPPO has just announced its first foldable smartphone called the Find N2 Flip will be on the Australian market soon and is available for pre-order from tomorrow. The phone packs in all-day battery life, a camera system with a Sony IMX890 sensor and the largest cover screen on any flip phone. This large cover screen means you can reply to messages and answer calls without needing to open your phone.

OPPO says the Find N2 Flip will flip the Australian smartphone market because other features include SUPERVOOC flash charging and dual-SIM 5G connectivity.

Measuring 3.26 inches, the Find N2 Flip’s cover screen is the largest of any flip phone currently available. Its vertical orientation is a bit of a game changer, allowing the cover screen to display as many as six notifications in one view which is industry-leading. This means you can reply to messages in messenger apps, toggle settings, record a voice note, answer a call etc – all without needing to open your phone.

As OPPO Australia’s managing director Michael Tran says: “Find N2 Flip breaks through barriers with the largest cover screen on any flip phone. With it, world-class selfies and flagship photography experiences are made possible. We’re confident that the Find N2 Flip is the premium flagship foldable that Aussies will love.”

Tran adds: “Empowered by a flagship camera system with a Sony IMX890 sensor, the incredibly powerful and super efficient 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000+, ultra-fast dual-SIM 5G connectivity, and best-in-class charging speeds, Find N2 Flip marks the start of a new chapter for OPPO’s foldable product portfolio and the flip phone segment on the whole.”

A new standard set for flip phone cameras

Find N2 Flip’s main camera is 50MP and features a Sony IMX890 sensor with an f/1.8 lens – a good foundation for your photos. Co-developed with camera manufacturer – Hasselblad – the Find N2 Flip captures pro-grade colours, has a Professional Mode and its XPAN mode freezes time in a wide, cinematic frame.

The Find N2 Flip’s in-house imaging NPU, MariSilicon X, boosts night video to capture clear 4K footage in low light, and you can also hold the phone part-folded and sideways, just like a camcorder for a steadier grip.

Tested to over 400,000 folds

Measuring 3.26 inches, the Find N2 Flip’s cover screen is the largest of any flip phone so far. This means you can reply to messages and answer calls without needing to open your phone.

Much of what makes the Find N2 Flip noteworthy is its second-generation Flexion Hinge, which works in harmony with the main display to create a folding screen with a subtle crease. In addition to being subtle to the eye, the crease also feels pretty much imperceptible to the touch – so you still get your uninterrupted flat-screen experience.

The phone has also been independently certified by TÜV Rhineland to withstand over 400,000 folds and unfolds at standard room temperature. That’s equivalent to opening and closing the phone around 100 times a day for more than ten years!

Long battery life and fast charging for a flip phone

The Find N2 Flip has a 4,300mAh battery and this is the biggest battery in any flip phone by a big margin. This battery gives you all-day battery life. Plus, OPPO worked with MediaTek to optimise the Dimensity 9000+ chipset for the Find N2 Flip.

As well, the Find N2 Flip is the fastest charging of any flip phone so far with its 44W SUPERVOOC – taking the battery from nearly empty to 50% in 23 minutes and up to 100% in under an hour.

The longest Android OS and security support

The OPPO Find N2 Flip takes some steps forward with its software experience for flip smartphones. It runs OPPO’s ColorOS 13 – specifically optimised for the new form factor – and this takes advantage of the large cover screen. OPPO is also offering four years of ColorOS updates and five years of security updates.

Fusing technology with style

With polished aluminium sides, a fingerprint-resistant glass cover and a micro-etched wave pattern across the hinge, the Find N2 Flip has a simple yet elegant design which is available in two colours: Astral Black and Moonlit Purple.

Weighing 191g and measuring 7.45mm in thickness, the Find N2 Flip still remains fairly thin and light. The device’s 6.8-inch E6 AMOLED display has a 21:9 aspect ratio and smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display also features an anti-reflection film and up to 1600 nits of peak brightness
