Pinterest Expands In Australia – One Of Its Fastest Growing Regions

Pinterest is clearly taking the Australian advertising market seriously with its first office in Sydney recently opening and a newly appointed team led by Country Manager, Carin Lee-Skelton.

The Asia-Pacific region is one of Pinterest’s fastest-growing areas, with millions of people currently using the platform each month. Incredibly, this number has increased by more than 50% over the past year (June 2018 to June 2019).

I’m excited to work closely with businesses of all sizes in Australia and New Zealand to help them reach their audiences on Pinterest. People go on Pinterest to try new things like outfit ideas, recipes, beauty looks, dream trips and even home remodels. As people come to Pinterest full of intent, businesses have a unique opportunity to inspire them to bring their ideas to life.

Pinterest is appealing to businesses to connect with their growing, passionate user base across ANZ at the point when they are considering what to do or buy.

Since launching its advertising programme in ANZ during 2017, Pinterest has worked with early partners such as Woolworths, Microsoft, Myer and Domain. Local small businesses such as real-u Australia and Koogal are also on Pinterest, using Pinterest platform to increase awareness and sales.

With an office and Sydney based team, Pinterest will be able to work more closely with businesses in Australia and New Zealand across industries such as retail, home, food, fashion, beauty, auto, financial services and tech.

Over the past year, we’ve been meeting growing advertiser demand by scaling our teams where we’ve launched ads such as in Australia and New Zealand, as well as expanding our ads business into new markets. With Carin’s proven industry knowledge and years of experience driving results for brands on Pinterest, we’re looking forward to further developing the opportunities for businesses in Australia and New Zealand with a local team under her leadership.

Pinterest’s mission is to bring everyone inspiration to create a life they love.  Unlike other platforms where the focus is on others, Pinterest is where people go to focus on themselves. Today more than 300 million people around the world come to Pinterest each month to plan their future—looking for ideas for what to eat for dinner, what products to buy, where to travel and how to decorate their homes.
