I discovered the Cable Guys controller holders at my local gaming shop. I was keen to buy one as a present for a relative.
The controller holders are compatible with all PlayStation, Xbox and retro console controllers. You can use them for remote controllers in the living room, and mobile phones in the bedroom. You could even use them to hold your biscuits or snack.
I purchased a Black Widow controller holder. It’s arrived well packed, with black ties around her neck and legs. The box included a 2-metre micro-USB charging cable – it’s extra-long, in case, you need the holder to be placed near your desk or bedside table.
The controller holder is around 22 cm high. It’s well made and the designs are fun and colourful. Her arms don’t move, but there’s plenty of space to hold objects. I could place my glasses or sunglasses in her arms. My tablet also works without toppling over – but it obstructs her face, so I probably won’t be doing this.
The range contains officially licensed characters from a range of gaming, retro gaming and entertainment franchises. I’m lusting after the Spider-Man Classic and Crash Bandicoot. I’m hoping they will release more female characters soon.

Recently Cable Guy have released the following controller holders: The Child, Monkeybomb, Masterchief Infinite, Crash Bandicoot 4, Spider-man Classic, Venompool, Toddler Groot and The Mandalorian.
Confirmed releases for Cable Guys 2021 are The Hulk, Super Sonic, Minnie Mouse, Psycho, Megaman, Amy Rose, Sub Zero, Wolverine and more. There are new models coming out each quarter so check back at the Exquisite Gaming website.
The Powerstand has recently been released and is available in black and white. It is designed to hold all Cable Guys, with two USB charging points, a Micro USB power in-charging cable, and a built-in headphone stand which fits perfectly behind any Cable Guy.
I probably paid too much with the delivery fee, but the Black Widow is a cool addition to my room. If you are forever misplacing your mobile phone, then a Cable Guys Controller Holder is going to be a helpful addition.
