Review: Russell Hobbs Steamglide Iron Review

My aunt told me she listens to podcasts while ironing. So I popped on some music and tackled a basket of assorted clothes when I tried out the Russell Hobbs Steamglide ultra iron.

The iron has an ergonomic handle and it’s easy and light to glide over fabric making it a pleasure to use.

The iron was able to remove creases and bumps from a cotton shirt, denim jeans, some everyday clothes and bed linen.

The iron comes with a plastic container to help easily fill the water tank. You need to first clear the steam and spray features, then they are easy to use.

The Steam Glide Ultra Features

The Steam Glide Ultra has the following features:

  • Ceramic non-stick soleplate
  • 40g per minute continuous steam
  • 3-way auto shut-off
  • 300 ml water tank
  • 360-degree swivel cord
  • 2400 Watts with a 2-year warranty

The temperature dial is clearly labelled and easy to adjust for different fabric types. The iron can be used on:

  • Cool – nylon, acrylics, polyester, synthetics
  • Warm – wool, polyester blends, silk
  • Hot – cotton, linen

It’s easy to tell when the iron is on. In addition, there’s a handy self-clean button to prevent residue from building up.
