Sonos’ PLAYBASE structural design is simply gorgeous, and available in two stunning stark black and white matte colours. The seamless design incorporates TEN amplified speakers which includes six mid-range drivers, three tweeters, and one woofer to ultimately produce the enriched audio that has made us fall back in love with our televisions! The PLAYBASE is 72cm by 38cm, and weighs 8.6kg, but is capable of supporting TVs up to 35kg.
The PLAYBASE implements Sonos’ Trueplay tuning process which modifies the speakers to produce audio specific to the layout of the room it is playing in; this also means the PLAYBASE may be used using the Sonos App (Available for both Android and iOS) to play music from your favourite music streaming services. The PLAYBASE may also be combined with other Sonos speakers to attain WIRELESS 5.1 surround sound.
One of the few concerns our team had, like other Sonos products, is the absence of Bluetooth functionality; as a result, the PLAYBASE will play exclusively when either the TV or Wi-Fi is online. However, in our increasingly online world, this is almost never an issue.
