From his bustling Sydney office, Simify co-founder Aidan Butler shares his passion for disrupting outdated norms in the tech world as he discusses the revolutionary impact of eSIM technology on the modern traveller.

Simify, founded in 2018 by Aidan and fellow entrepreneur Mac Steer, was born out of a shared frustration with the expensive and restrictive roaming packages offered by major telcos. The duo tapped into a growing demand for a better deal, quickly growing their business to serve more than 300,000 satisfied customers.
Now Simify offers mobile coverage in more than 150 countries, providing unlimited data for up to 90 days without extra fees.
The simplicity and freedom offered by eSIMs are transforming the travel experience. “You shouldn’t have to use your smartphone like a dumbphone when you’re overseas, just because you’re terrified of chewing through your measly data cap,” he adds.
“The big telcos will tell you, ‘It’s easier to just stay on our plans when travelling,’ but easier for who? Travellers shouldn’t have to stress about data limits when they’re overseas. They should be able to relax and use their phone just like they do at home.”
