Ways to Make the Most of Meetups or Create Your Own Groups

Meetups are a great way to meet new people, network or just hang out and learn a new hobby. There are groups suitable for most business and leisure activities.

When you first sign up, think about some of the groups you’d like to join. But don’t click all of the interests you like, as you’ll be bombarded with notifications.

I’ve enjoyed Meetups for art, dining out, photography, WordPress and small business skills. I prefer to attend business meetups with an agenda. Be careful some Meetups are full of people trying to sell their wares. Make sure you pack your business cards to swap, in case you meet someone interesting, or swap LinkedIn profiles on the spot.

If you’re a little nervous about meeting new people take a friend along, or make your goal to meet just one person.
