After Samsung launched its first 5G compatible smartphone, the Note 10 and 10+, the tech giant has gone on to release a new lineup with the Samsung Galaxy S20. Including the S20, S20+ and the S20 Ultra, the chief focus for its latest Galaxy smartphone was the new camera system – powered by artificial intelligence with a large image sensor to bring out the best of every moment you capture.

Of course, this is not all that there is to look forward to. We can expect improvements and additions to our music-listening, Netflix-watching and gaming.

Did somebody say Xbox games were coming to Galaxy S20 smartphones?

Change the way we see the world

The focal point of Samsung’s S20 family is the camera. It has been a theme in recent times for smartphones to significantly improve their cameras’ quality and capability, so it is only fitting Samsung follow suit – and they mean business.

By combining AI technology with its biggest image sensor to date, the S20 lineup will have even crisper resolution than before. The S20 and S20+ will have a 64MP camera, while the Ultra will be equipped with an impressive 108MP camera. The larger image sensor means that it will be exposed to more light which makes for richer image quality, even in low-light environments.

The S20 will feature Space Zoom technology which essentially uses both Hybrid Optic Zoom and Super Resolution, as well as AI-powered digital zoom, allowing for users to really get up close to the action, even when you’re far away. The S20 and S20+ will be able to zoom up to 30x with the Ultra capable of 100x zoom. The S20 Ultra uses AI-powered folded lenses meaning that your image quality will remain high even when zoomed into the max.

Single Take

The feature making your capturing possibilities more expansive than ever. When you take a video or a photo you can choose from a selection of Live Focus, cropped, Ultra Wide amongst others to make sure you get the perfect shot for the moment.

Film like a pro

The S20 offers 8K video shooting so that you can re-live moments with real-life colours and real-time movements. Don’t miss a single detail. Even when the footage seems bumpy and all over the place, Super Steady, anti-rolling stabilisation and AI motion analysis make your footage seem like it’s been shot by an industry-level action camera.

If you see a potential image within your video footage, take a still and it will still come out high-res.

More of what you love

Samsung, with the S20 lineup, has also tried to improve on the things that we love doing and making it easier to use as a whole.

For music, users get personalised playlists based around their routines thanks to a collaboration between Spotify and Bixby Routines. 8K videos aren’t only to be shot and kept to yourself, share them directly to YouTube, which uploads ultra-fast thanks to its 5G capabilities.

The S20 has also partnered up with Netflix to get renowned directors with Galaxy S20s in their hands to provide extra content by making use of the pro-grade camera. We could see bonus content for shoes like Narcos or Elite that would be available on Samsung Daily and Samsung Channels. Netflix’s overall accessibility on these devices has significantly improved to say the least.

If you’re a gamer, you’re in luck. Later this month, Forza Street will be available in the Galaxy Store – the first time it will be available on the mobile platform. And with Microsoft being a partner with Samsung, could it be possible to get more Xbox games on the S20?

With a 120Hz display, a fast processor, a game booster that optimises peak performance; it would definitely be possible and the gaming experience would be like none other on a smartphone.

Battery and Storage

The S20 comes with a 25W fast charger, while the S20 Ultra supports 45W Super Fast charging which makes for less waiting time between charges. And no matter which smartphone you choose from the three, each will have huge storage capacity (128GB for S20; 128GB, 256GB and 512GB for Galaxy S20+ and S20 Ultra).

Offer

Today, Woolworths has offered $250 off the new Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra 5G handsets for existing and new customers who sign up to a Woolworths Mobile Phone Plan.

Customers will also get 10% off their grocery shop once a month during their plan and A bonus pair of free Samsung Galaxy Buds+ for those who preorder either the S20, S20+ or S20 Ultra.
