If you enjoyed playing UNO cards in childhood, then you’ll probably also love the UNO mobile game app.

You’ll need to know the rules of UNO, and if you are familiar with them then it’s easy to play the app on your phone or tablet.

The UNO game app has many unique features and fresh modes of play designed to appeal to a worldwide audience. It’s had over 180 million downloads worldwide. The game has become so popular it regularly appears in the top download charts, with over 50 million total minutes played.

The first UNO app was released over a decade ago. The game development was a collaboration between Mattel163 studio and NetEase. The team has worked together on many successful mobile games and educational apps based on Mattel’s iconic brands.

Did you know that 2021 is the 50th Anniversary of UNO?

In 1971, the UNO card game was conceived in a barbershop in Cincinnati, Ohio with the aim of becoming a way for families to spend more time together.  The iconic game quickly became a household favourite. UNO is now played in over 80 countries and 17 decks are sold every minute.

“For 50 years, UNO has brought people together by transcending language, culture and age through gameplay. As the number one game in the world, we’ve maintained its origins of a beloved family pastime, while evolving into a cultural phenomenon,” said Ray Adler, Global Head of Mattel Games. “Combining the brand’s roots of inclusivity and simplicity, the passionate global fan base, and unprecedented momentum, UNO’s 50th anniversary is a yearlong celebration of the brand’s past, present and future.”

“UNO is an iconic staple for families around the world as it transcends ages, cultures and languages making it one of the most popular games,” said Lori Pantel, SVP and GM, Mattel US Marketing. “It’s inspiring to see the continued momentum for this heritage brand with new innovation disrupting not only the UNO brand, but the entire games category.”
