It seems that Billie Eilish is everywhere these days. Earlier this year, Billie and her brother Finneas won an Oscar for their theme song in No Time To Die and last week Billie became the youngest artist to be a Coachella headliner st this year’s festival.
Well right now Billie is popping up on our screens alongside Lisa from The Simpsons as she appears in a short about how this all happened and she met up with Lisa. The three-minute short is available on Disney+ and is called When Billie Met Lisa. You can stream it on Disney+ and in the meantime, watch some of the teasers for it below.
The short follows Lisa who’s trying to get some saxophone practice in but basically her whole family ends up driving her out of the house. So she decides to go and practice on a freeway underpass and as Billie Eilish drives by she hears Lisa practising. Of course, Billie has to go and find out where this amazing music is coming from.
Billie finds Lisa and of course – Lisa is a huge Billie Eilish fan – so the two get on very well. The short continues, sending up the young singer in a lot of funny ways. For example, over the course of the episode, her hair changes multiple times. It starts off in her iconic lime green and black but gets switched around a whole lot of times throughout the episode.
Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell did the voice-overs themselves for The Simpsons short. Finneas has a fun scene with Bart where he tries to understand why he’s always helping his sister. There are also cute animations of Finneas and Billie’s parents, who serve an important role in their lives and careers. As their 2021 documentary showed, they’ve been supporting their children’s careers the whole time.
During the new short, Billie hires Lisa to work with her on a song and of course it’s a ‘jamming’ time!
There’s a scene in the short which sends up Billie’s 2018 video – You Should See Me in the Crown. Billie gives Lisa the tip that: “When you shoot a music video with spiders in your mouth, make sure they don’t lay eggs.” It’s a fun reference to video where Billie has real spiders crawling all over her and even into her mouth!
By making The Simpsons short, Billie is building up her appearances on Disney+. She previously made the concert film Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles, featuring a performance of every song on Happier Than Ever.
But now that she has her very own moment with the iconic American family – The Simpsons – it shows us that Billie Eilish – and her brother Finneas O’Connell – have reached a whole new level of fame. All we can say here at Women Love Tech is – go Billie!!
