Echo…Echo…Echo: Amazon Announces 3 Additions To The Family

After recently launching Rugby Xplorer in a collaboration with Rugby Australia, Amazon has three new products to choose from with new designs and more ways to use Alexa on a daily basis.

Echo Studio

music, sound, amazon

Set to be the best-sounding echo to date with five built-in directional speakers that helps the sound’s clarity and depth. The 5.15 inch woofer makes for a deep, rich-sounding bass to give character to any and all types of music. Echo Studio will also take into account the acoustics of your space in order to find-tune audio-playback, leading to optimal sound quality and delivery – no matter where it’s situated in the room.

Wait, hold up, let me just translate that last part to English, because even I got confused rereading that sentence. The acoustics are basically the sound waves that travel in a room, so what the echo studio does is pick up on these patterns and adjust itself to the space in order for the sound waves from the music to come out crisper and fuller

All-new Echo

amazon, echo, alexa

A twist on the classic, with an updated fabric design with am array of different colour options. In terms of hardware, the new model hasn’t changed drastically, the only thing is the design and the addition of the same sound build as the Echo Plus, accompanied by a 3-inch woofer and greater back sound, all to produce a much stronger bass and much clearer sound in general.

Echo Dot with Clock

amazon, AI, echo

Very much the “little brother” of the trio, the Echo Dot with Clock is an extension of the already best-selling Echo device. Perfect companion for kitchens or bedside tables, whether you’re asking it to set a timer during your cooking endeavours, or asking to set an alarm for the next morning. The LED light adjusts its brightness according to how much light there is in the room. For alarms, you can easily set it to snooze by tapping the top. No more smashing alarm clocks.

“Alexa, what new things can you do?”

Alexa Can Recommend Routines

This doesn’t mean that Alexa will recommend you take a shower, that would be…rude. What Alexa will do, though, is pick up on daily patterns. For example, if I were to set an alarm for 7:15 am every day followed by asking about the day’s weather forecast, Alexa will suggest setting up a routine that will see that alarm always set, and the weather forecast always being played after it goes off. Quite handy. Alexa will suggest it to you, and all you have to do is say “yes”.

Alexa Can Tell You About Her Responses

Users can now ask Alexa what she heard when a command has been asked. For example, by saying “Alexa, tell me what you heard” and she will promptly play back to you your most recent voice request. You can also ask for explanations about Alexa’s responses by asking “Alexa, why did you do that?”, and she will briefly explain her response.

Additional Control For Customers—Auto-Delete Voice Recordings

Users can already tell Alexa to “delete everything I said today” but the new models are taking it a step further. Auto-Delete will allow users to have their voice recordings older than 3 or 18 months continuously deleted. This is to improve and ensure users’ privacy.
