There are a range of products which will be available from Telstra to enhance the security of your home which can all be linked and controlled through the Telstra Smart Home app.

The Indoor Wi-Fi HD camera allows you to monitor inside your home for peace of mind. If you are away and want to make sure your kids get home safe from school, this camera can detect when they arrive home and send you a video clip. It’s also a great way to keep an eye on pets and elderly members if you can’t be there at home with them all the time. Not to mention added security in the unfortunate case of an intruder.

The Outdoor Wi-Fi Camera is also great for added security on the outside of your home. It will also be possible to link up to your door so you can see who is outside your front door.

The Lockwood Smart Door Lock allows you to lock and unlock your door from your smartphone, so no need to panic if you left the door unlocked whilst rushing to work, or if you’ve lost your key. If you also own the outdoor Wi-Fi camera you can see who is outside and decide whether to let them in or not. Perfect if you have guests over and don’t have a spare key.

The Smart Thermostat means you can control you thermostat from your phone and create a heating or cooling schedule to suit your needs. It is also a great way to save energy as you would now be able to monitor your energy use whilst away from home.

The Smart Power Plug enables you to schedule appliances to turn on and off or check them remotely. No need to worry if you’ve left the hair straighteners plugged in, you can securely turn them off with your phone. Got an early start? Why not turn the kettle on from the comfort of your bed so your tea is ready to go or even turn the lights down low to create some ambience from the comfort of your sofa.

Wide beam motion sensors will allow you to get an alert when motion is detected. It can also be configured to turn on lights on a room when motion is detected. The settings can also be set to notify you if there is no motion detected; for example, if you have children who are meant to be at home or pets.

Door and window sensors  will provide you alerts when a door or window is opened when it shouldn’t be or is left open. This is also a useful gadget for saving energy in the colder months.

LED smart lights can enhance the way you live, too. You can alternate the colour and brightness to suit your own personal needs.

“We are focused on what customers have been telling us they want right now – security and energy solutions – while keeping an eye on the future so that we can integrate with emerging technologies and services, such as in-home health care, dynamic energy management and entertainment,” added John Chambers.
