Health and fitness motivator, Dani Stevens, who is also a mother of four, has an enormous following on social media – thanks to her down-to-earth approach to leading a healthy lifestyle. She recently shared with Women Love Tech her favourite fitness apps and told us why wearable apps are so helpful.

Dani can you tell us which are your favourite fitness apps?

They vary from time to time as I don’t do ground hog day very well. At the moment I’m capturing my steps with a Gotrak device, record my food journal with Fitness Pal and love You App for fitspo daily micro actions.

Do you think the wearable fitness gear is something that has really revolutionised the health and fitness industry…and in what ways?

Absolutely. We now know exactly what our bodies are doing, heart rate, sleep, cardio or calories burnt, what our friends and ‘fitfam’ across the globe are doing. Motivating each other, everyday #sd365 is what it’s all about and especially makes people aware how much they are moving or should be moving to live a healthier and happier life.

In what ways is technology helping the Dani Stevens community?

Technology is so fantastic in helping me with my various monthly challenges. For example, I recently set a water challenge for myself and my followers. It means you can easily set an alert on my app to prompt me to drink a glass of water every hour.

I’ve also had an abs challenge so my wearable notifies me when I need to do my four minute tight tummy ‘tabata workout.’

What advice can you give to people who are wanting to get fit and healthy and would like to use technology to give them a helping hand?

Just grab one yourself so you can have full control of your wellbeing. It’s like walking around with your personal Motivator when you’re not connecting daily with me!
