Mean Girls Walked So These Power Pink Beats Cables Could Charge

It was the unofficial uniform of the Plastics when Regina George famously declared, “On Wednesdays we wear pink.” The colour of Molly Ringwald’s dreamy ’80s fashion moment in Pretty in Pink. Immortalised in celebrity history as Jennifer Lopez stepped out wearing that unforgettable diamond. And more recently, it took over the world with the Barbiecore phenomenon, proving that there is always room to think pink.

Beats got the memo. And made it official. This month, the brand that made colourful headphones a personality trait is turning its attention to the most overlooked tech accessory of all: the humble charging cable – giving it a very glamorous glow-up with the new Beats Power Pink cable. Because why should your head phones have all the fun?

For years, charging cables have been the beige cardigan of the tech world. Practical? Absolutely. Exciting? Hardly. They spend their lives tangled at the bottom of handbags, disappearing behind bedside tables or travelling in laptop sleeves that haven’t seen daylight since your last work trip.

The new Beats Power Pink cable changes that.

A cable that deserves to be seen

It might be attractive enough to make a passer-by blush, but despite its Power Pink finish, Beats’ new cable isn’t just here to look pretty. In fact, it’s proving that the best products should never rely on looks alone.

Wrapped in a durable woven finish, it’s designed to resist tangles and fraying, and it has survived thousands of hours of testing before making its way into your handbag, desk drawer, or carry-on. Which is reassuring, because if your cables live anything like mine, they’re constantly being wrapped around chargers, stuffed into cosmetic bags and battling for survival against loose lipsticks, rogue bobby pins and approximately 17 pens that no longer work.

Available in USB-C to USB-C (in both 1.5-metre and generous 3-metre lengths) as well as USB-A to USB-C, the range works across both Apple and Android devices. Depending on the model, it supports charging, syncing, data transfer, CarPlay and even lossless audio playback with compatible devices.

Basically, it’s every bit as hardworking as it is hot!

The extra-long three-metre version might just be my favourite. Finally, a cable long enough to scroll TikTok from the couch without having to awkwardly perch beside the nearest power outlet like you’re serving a timeout.

The perfectly pink pairing

Of course, if you’re committing to the pink aesthetic, you may as well lean all the way in.

Fortunately, the iconic Beats Solo 4 in Cloud Pink continues the brand’s’ long-standing reputation for making headphones that look every bit as good as they sound. Weighing just 217 grams, they’re surprisingly lightweight, with UltraPlush ear cushions and a flexible headband that make hours of listening genuinely comfortable – whether you’re commuting, working from a cafĂ© or pretending your walk to Woolworths is actually a music video.

Sound quality is where they really shine. Re-engineered custom 40mm drivers deliver impressively rich, balanced audio with minimal distortion, while Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking creates a genuinely immersive listening experience that makes playlists, podcasts and movies feel noticeably bigger.

Battery anxiety also becomes a thing of the past, with up to 50 hours of playback on a single charge. And if you do forget to plug them in, Fast Fuel delivers up to five hours of listening from just a 10-minute charge.

They also support lossless audio via USB-C or the included 3.5mm cable and work seamlessly across both Apple and Android devices – proof that style and practicality don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

The LPC (Little Pink Cable)

It may not be a little black dress, but ultimately, the new Beats Power Pink cable has all the hallmarks of a modern classic.

It’s practical, undeniably stylish and manages to inject a little personality into something we’d normally overlook.

Which honestly, leaves us feeling tickled pink!
