Gamers have a very specific list of demands, and most phones quietly fail at least one of them. POCO’s answer with the F9 Ultra is to stop compromising altogether and just build a phone around the scoreboard.
Under the hood sits the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, POCO’s most powerful chipset yet, paired for the first time in the F Ultra series with a dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset handling visual processing. Together they push the F9 Ultra to an AnTuTu score of 4,165,108, the highest ever recorded on a POCO device, and unlock Smart frame rate gaming at up to 185FPS, an industry-leading figure.
Compared with a standard 120FPS, that’s 65 extra frames every second and a refresh interval cut by 3ms, which in competitive terms is the difference between spotting an opponent first and not spotting them at all. That ultra-smooth frame rate runs natively across more than 21 titles, including PUBG Mobile, Delta Force, Call of Duty: Mobile and League of Legends: Wild Rift, with POCO’s WildBoost Engine and a 3D IceLoop cooling system keeping performance stable through long sessions, addressing the thermal throttling that’s traditionally been the Achilles heel of marathon mobile gaming.
Meanwhile, the display matches the ambition. A 6.9-inch, 185Hz POCO HyperRGB AMOLED screen uses a full RGB subpixel structure for visuals comparable to a 2K display, while a new M11 luminescent material pushes peak brightness to 4,500 nits, and up to 10,000 nits for HDR content.
Touch response is just as sharp, with a 480Hz touch sampling rate and a 4,800Hz instant touch rate under Game Turbo mode, alongside a 200Hz gyro sampling rate for precision aiming and tilting, the kind of granular spec that matters far more to competitive mobile players than it does to the average buyer, but matters enormously to the audience this phone is built for.
Audio gets a serious upgrade too, courtesy of the next chapter in POCO’s partnership with Bose. Dual symmetrical 1115D stereo speakers combine with an independent 1620 subwoofer for a genuine 2.1-channel setup, tuned across “Dynamic” and “Balanced” sound profiles. A new Game audio mode sharpens footstep loudness and directional cues without losing the layered detail of gunfire and voice chat, which is exactly the kind of edge that matters in the final circle.
None of it would matter without the battery to back it up. The F9 Ultra carries the largest battery in F Series history, an 8,050mAh cell built with silicon-carbon content for genuine two-day life, backed by 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge, plus reverse charging for topping up other devices mid-session.
