I was standing over a console trying to complete a task – you know, fixing the “power cables” to save our doomed spaceship – when a kid burst in, looked down at his glowing wristband and gasped, “Oh no, I’m dead.” Then, in the most dramatic collapse I’ve ever seen, he crumpled to the floor like he was on Broadway.
I couldn’t stop laughing… until a girl walked in, took one look at the scene, pointed at me, and yelled, “YOU’RE THE SABOTEUR!”

Cue emergency meeting. Cue chaos.
Despite my very innocent protests, I got voted off. Off I went to the ghost room, where I could watch the rest of the game on CCTV screens like a crew-mate from beyond. And honestly? Still worth it. That was just one round – you get three in every session, so revenge came quickly.
This is Saboteurs – an Among Us-style game played in real life. And it’s ridiculously fun.
Like Among Us… But IRL
Think laser tag meets murder mystery meets full-blown role-play. You dress up in colour-coded gear. You crawl through vents. You sneak around pretending to be helpful while actually plotting sabotage. You lie. You accuse. You dramatically “die”.
There are extra roles too, like the Sheriff (who can take out an impostor… if they’re right), and the Jester (whose job is to get voted out). It adds an extra layer of strategy and ridiculousness that keeps everyone on their toes.
I played three rounds, all as a humble crew member, and now I have to go back so I can try being the impostor. Or at least the Jester. The chaos potential is chef’s kiss.
The Dark Map – If You Dare
If you want to crank things up a notch, ask for the Dark Map. It’s foggy. It’s creepy. It’s harder to see who’s who, and the tension is unreal. They recommend it for ages 10 and up – and it’s perfect for teens and adults who want to test their nerves (and friendships).
My teenage cousins came with me and we had an absolute ball. Honestly, I think I may have just secured Cousin of the Year.

Final Verdict?
Saboteurs is one of the most creative, chaotic, and laugh-out-loud group experiences I’ve had. It’s the perfect blend of physical activity, teamwork, deception, and drama. If you’re looking for something screen-free, active, and wildly entertaining – this is it.
Just remember: trust no one.
