Filters. Great on social media. Even better for improving your clothes washing routine. Which is exactly why the Samsung Less Microfiber Filter was launched.
Not-so-fun-fact. In our quest for cleaner clothes, we may unknowingly contribute to a significant environmental problem: microfibre pollution. This is because, every time we do laundry, tiny plastic fibres shed from our clothes and find their way into water bodies. Posing a threat to marine life and ecosystems. Samsung Electronics has stepped up to address this issue with the launch of their innovative Less Microfiber Filter. Designed to capture these microfibres and prevent them from entering our waterways.
Available for select Samsung front load washing machines, the Less Microfibee Filter is a simple yet effective solution to a complex problem. Its blades efficiently capture microfibres released during a standard wash cycle, directing them to one side for easy removal. This means that users need only clean the filter after approximately every 30 uses, making maintenance hassle-free. Additionally, the filter integrates seamlessly with Samsung’s SmartThings platform. Allowing users to monitor its status and receive alerts via the SmartThings app when cleaning or troubleshooting is required.
Sasha Botha, Head of Home Appliance at Samsung Electronics Australia, emphasises the company’s commitment to providing products that not only enhance convenience but also promote environmental responsibility. The Less Microfibee Filter not only raises awareness of microfibre pollution but also empowers consumers to take action in mitigating its effects. As Botha states, “even the smallest steps could make a difference.”
The launch of the Less Microfiber Filter is just one example of Samsung’s dedication to innovation for a brighter future. By developing technologies that address pressing environmental concerns, the company aims to contribute to a more sustainable world. Looking ahead, Samsung will continue to collaborate with partners and explore new avenues for delivering household solutions. To ultimately prioritise both efficiency and environmental stewardship.
The Samsung Less Microfiber Filter is available nationwide through Samsung’s website and select retailers including JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman. The rrp is $299.
