Cecile Reinaud is the founder of the leading maternity wear brand Seraphine. Made for women who love technology, Seraphine has created the #justforlove campaign.

Encouraging women to share their ‘moments of love’ for every picture uploaded to their on-site application Seraphine will donate $1 to children’s charity Baby2Baby. Share your moments of love for children’s charity.

Can you give us a little background on your career to date?

I spent the first part of my career in advertising, working for many Blue Chip companies with the agency J Walter Thompson. Then in 2002, I set up my maternity fashion label Seraphine. Seraphine began life as a single store in West London, but in 2006 I made the decision to take the leap into e-commerce and haven’t looked back since! We’ve been steadily growing our international e-commerce business, and just this year, are making a major move into the US market.

Have you met some major technology problems when you were creating your business?

We did have one technology problem last summer, but to be honest, it was a very good problem to have! When the Duchess of Cambridge wore our Fuchsia Knot Front Dress for the first official photographs with Prince George, we were anxious not to let our site crash like what happened at Reiss and Top Shop. In the end, thanks to a lot of hard work and careful prep from our IT department we were only down for a couple of minutes and managed to increase our server capacity and keep the site running which is pretty amazing!

Would you call yourself a techno-savvy woman? and why?

I like to think so. I’m maybe not as tech-savvy as most kids are nowadays, but I think I can hold my own. Technology is hugely important to me for keeping on top of my work as well as my home life – I can’t remember how I coped before I discovered online shopping! I’m always interested and quick to explore the latest tech trends – I remember when the iPad was launched for the first time, I had to have one within the first week!

Name 3 apps that you can’t live without.

  • Uber – I love the fact that I can get hold of a taxi whether I’m in London Paris or New York!
  • Shazam – Such a great way to find cool new music
  • The period tracker!

How do think technology is going to change women’s lives?

I’d say that it absolutely already has! Women are not only increasingly involved but are also fast becoming a driving force in this traditionally male-dominated industry – I think women like Angela Ahrendts are fantastic role models for young girls today! Technology really does help to make all aspects of life quicker, easier and more connected. Shopping for example is easier than ever before, and there are even some great apps to help women through pregnancy and breastfeeding!
