Women Love Tech recently looked at how to take a virtual holiday with Pinterest to the likes of Paris and Madrid. This time around, we’re going to the states! Here are some online activities that you can do to take a virtual trip of these four popular cities in the United States, including tastes of culture and entertainment.

Texas

The Alamo, Texas

Take a virtual tour of the Alamo – the historic Spanish mission and fortress from the 18th century. Visitors can explore the whole 4.2-acre complex right from home.

Seattle

The Emerald City is Washington State’s biggest city and is teeming with entertainment and culture for people to check out during the pandemic.

For your entertainment fix, local Seattle musicians have started performing home concerts online that people can tune into almost every day of the week at http://artisthome.org/.

For a more cultural experience, you can explore some of the Museum of Flight’s most iconic aircrafts including Air Force One, the world’s largest single-engine biplane, Antonov An-2, and even a NASA space shuttle. https://www.museumofflight.org/

Las Vegas

Without doubt, the city known as Sin City, is best known for its booming night life. Luckily for you, you can get a taste of what that’s like with Park MGM’s legendary Wednesday night festivities that will be available online. This includes tuning into some funky DJ sessions.

If you want something spectacular why not catch a Cirque show? Thanks to CirqueConnect, a number of tutorials and exhilarating highlights will be on display for all to enjoy. https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/

neon museum, Las Vegas

For some culture, you can check out these two museums: the Neon Museum and the Mob Museum who both have apps that allow for virtual tours. The Neon Museum takes you on a tour through vintage Vegas through its neon signs and bright lights. The Mob Museum showcases some of the most popular organised crime and law enforcement exhibits from their museum. https://themobmuseum.org/

New York

New York is without doubt one of the most visually stunning and culturally-rich cities in the states. Just because you can’t visit in person doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy its beauty at all.

Niagara Falls State Park, US

Start with a drone tour of the Griffis Sculpture Park in Chautauqua-Allegheny where you’ll be able to look at over 250 sculptures! For a more natural experience, This video takes you to the popular Niagara Falls, Maid of the Mist boat visit, the Cave of the Winds and a helicopter ride over the Falls. If you have VR goggles, the experience will even more surreal!
