Ring showcased its commitment to evolving home security technology with two major announcements that redefine clarity and intelligence in the smart home space.
The headline grabber? The introduction of 2K video resolution to its popular Floodlight Cam Wired Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro. This upgrade marks Ring’s sharpest, most vibrant video quality to date, delivering unparalleled clarity and texture. With enhanced details and balanced colour, courtesy of Ring Vision – Ring’s proprietary image optimisation technology – home owners can now monitor their surroundings with precision like never before. Even better, the rollout begins January 8, 2025, and it’s free for existing users via the Ring app.
Ring also unveiled its new Vehicle Detection feature, a smart alert that notifies users when a moving vehicle enters the field of view on select devices. From driveway monitoring to neighbourhood surveillance, this addition is a game changer for proactive home security. Available through a Ring Home subscription, Vehicle Detection begins rolling out immediately to compatible devices, including the Floodlight Cam Wired Plus and the Video Doorbell Pro.
Dreame Technology: Robotic retractable legs
Dreame Technology unveiled its next-gen cleaning innovations at CES 2025, headlined by the X50 Ultra robot vacuum, featuring the world’s first robotic retractable legs and cutting-edge ProLeap technology. Designed for Australian and New Zealand homes, this advanced device redefines autonomous cleaning by effortlessly navigating challenging terrains, including steps and door sills, up to 6cm in height.
Available in March 2025, the X50 Ultra goes beyond standard robotic vacuums with its VersaLift Navigation system, which uses advanced DToF sensors to deliver comprehensive 360-degree scanning, efficient obstacle detection, and precise under furniture cleaning.
