With The New Amazon Echo Devices, You Can Add Alexa To Every Room

Miriam Daniels Vice President of Alexa And Echo Explains Why Alexa Is A Woman
Amazon Echo

Amazon recently introduced a new line-up of Echo devices and an Echo companion device – so now it’s officially easier for you to add an Alexa to any room in your home.

The new Echo devices join the Echo and Echo Spot to create the Echo family of devices.

The Echo Spot – with its sleek rounded design and small screen size – is a neat little device, but it’s easy to see why the improved sound of the next-gen Echo Plus and the 10-inch screen of the new Echo Show are more striking.

Let’s have a look at the new range of devices.

Echo Dot: The easiest way to bring Alexa into your home, the next-gen Echo Dot has got a more powerful sound and an updated fabric design.

With a curved shape and fabric finish, it’s available in Charcoal, Heather Grey, and Sandstone, so you can easily mix and match.

Echo Plus: With a new design, upgraded sound, and built-in smart home hub, the all-new Echo Plus makes setting up compatible smart home devices easy. All you have to do is say, “Alexa, discover my devices,” and Echo Plus will automatically discover and set up all your compatible lights, locks, plugs, switches.

It also has an embedded temperature sensor, in-built wifi set up, and a larger 3-inch Neodymium woofer and increased back volume. The Echo Plus is available in Charcoal, Heather Grey, and Sandstone.

Echo Show: With powerful speakers, a stunning 10-inch HD display, a 5 MP camera, and a built-in smart home hub, plus all the other features Alexa is known for – the Echo Show is clearly Amazon’s big ticket device.

You can ask Alexa to stream videos from Amazon Prime Video, browse your favourite websites, make Skype calls, and use Alexa calling and Drop In features.

New Echo companion device – Echo Sub: Echo Sub is the first wireless Echo subwoofer – so you can pump up the bass when you’re listening to music on your existing or new Echo devices. The powerful bass makes it a perfect house party entertainment accessory!

Availability: Echo Dot, Echo Plus, Echo Show, and Echo Sub are available on and at retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, and others.

Pricing: Echo Dot: RRP $79, Echo Plus: RRP $229, Echo Show: RRP $349, Echo Sub: RRP $199.
