It seems like Disney+ has been around for ages but it’s only two years since we’ve been able to stream so much content from this channel – into our living rooms and on our devices. It all started two years ago today – the 12th November 2019 – so Disney is celebrating this special day by offering anyone out there who hasn’t subscribed yet a month’s subscription for $2!
So if you don’t have a subscription yet, there’s never been a better time. Of course, after the first month, the price will go up to $11.99 per month buy hey, there are a lot of ways you can spend that sort of money and not many of them give you literally thousands of hours of entertainment, so it’s not a bad deal.
This Disney+ day promotion will begin today but it only lasts until November 15th so you’ll have to get your skates on!
When it comes down to it, what can you expect to see that’s new on Disney+ right now and what are some of the highlights of these last couple of years of streaming?

That’s right, the streaming giant is set to debut a new movie called Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings starring Simu Liu, Awkwafina, and Tony Leung.
There’s also a heap of other upcoming Disney+ announcements involving Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Pixar, National Geographic and Star.
The Disney+ original movie Home Sweet Home Alone, starring Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, and Archie Yates, will make its debut as well. As its name teases, this is an all-new adventure comedy from the beloved holiday film franchise.
It follows Max Mercer, a mischievous and resourceful young lad who’s left behind when his family head off to Japan for the holidays. So when a married couple keen on retrieving a priceless heirloom set their sights on the Mercer family home, it’s up to Max to protect it from the intruders. This is going to be fun to watch.
There’s also Dopesick, an original Star series starring Michael Keaton. Plus the animated short film Ciao Alberto from Pixar, featuring characters from the hit breakout film Luca.Â
As well, Disney+ Day will premiere an all-new original series of shorts from Walt Disney Animation Studios called Olaf Presents, which sees Frozen‘s beloved snowman retelling a pile of Disney tales as only he can.
The Simpsons fans can expect a brand new short while National Geographic lovers have the first five episodes from The World According to Jeff Goldblum season 2 to look forward to.
But it just keeps coming. For those wanting to go to new galaxies, Disney+ will debut a new special celebrating the origins and legacy of Star Wars’ legendary bounty hunter, Boba Fett.
And not to miss out, Marvel fans will get a special of their own, celebrating the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+ with a look towards the future.
