From beards to shoes, Snapchat has now joined forces with the Italian fashion giants, Gucci, to bring Snapchatters four different pairs of shoes for them to test out.

These two new lenses, each showcasing two pairs of shoes, will give fashionistas the chance to try on some of the brand’s newest products, and if they like it, buy them straight from the app. These kinds of lenses, in conjuction with Snap’s machine learning advances, announced at the Snap Partner Summit conference in June, is exactly the sort of thing that Snapchatters can expect to see in the near future.

The entire industry knows that augmented reality try-on is going to be incredibly important to the future of commerce and after many years of investing in the space, we’re proud to share it with Snapchatters alongside a brand that they love,”

said Selby Drummond, Head of Fashion and Beauty, Snap Inc.

As SVP of Camera Platform, Eitan Pilipski, said, Snap ML is going to widen the range of possibility and upsurge interactivity between developers and users within the Snapchat community. The Gucci and Snapchat collaboration is the epitome of this.

“The entire industry knows that augmented reality try-on is going to be incredibly important to the future of commerce,” and this collaboration with Gucci is simply the start. “Snapchatters are actively looking for more and more ways to engage with brands on our platform and we’re so excited to help partners like Gucci connect with them during this time,” said Drummond.

The two brands had previously worked together on a Gucci-themed AR island and Gucci was a sponsor for the limited-edition Snapchat smart spectacles.
