Samsung’s Latest Soundbars Are An Easy Solution For Great Sound

Samsung has released a range of soundbars this year which give you a true wireless Dolby Atmos experience – yet they’re easy to install below your TV. There are ten new soundbar models in the range with some other technical improvements and a choice of design so you can have the sound quality you’re after without a big installation headache. After all – we need good sound for all the streaming and gaming we do these days.

The flagship Q990B soundbar has 11.1.4ch surround sound including one subwoofer channel, four up-firing channels and two wireless rear speakers for an immersive Dolby Atmos & DTS:X experience. Samsung defines ‘Dolby Atmos’ as featuring an upwards-firing directional speaker for three dimensional sound and Wireless Dolby Atmos transmission via Wi-Fi, works with all the 2022 Samsung TVs.

Vice President Consumer Electronics for Samsung Australia, Jeremy Senior, says this new range of soundbars shows Samsung is breaking barriers in audio innovation: “The leap to produce quality 360-degree surround-sound excellence and new calibration features from just a soundbar is testament to Samsung’s dedication and research in audio excellence,” he adds.

A three-dimensional audio experience

To achieve the surround sound effect, the new range of soundbars incorporates new technology which allows for the sound calibration of the room. This includes enhancements to Q-Symphony, which allows the soundbar to work alongside the speakers from the TV for an up to 22-channel Dolby Atmos experience when paired with a compatible Samsung TV (those in the 2022 range).

Q-Symphony now has the ability to connect to all of the speakers on a compatible Samsung TV to execute audio in harmony with the soundbar, making the 3D sound effect stronger.

For a more customised experience, Space Fit Sound Advance (compatible with both 2021 and 2022 QLED Q70 TVs and above) will optimise the sound accordingly to the size of the room. Space Fit Sound Advance tests the room’s reverberations from both the soundbar and subwoofer, to continually ensure your soundbar delivers surround sound, no matter what you are viewing or listening to.

As Senior says: “Australians appreciate high-end audio and Samsung’s new range of soundbars transforms the home cinema experience with cutting edge innovations like Wireless True Dolby Atmos, Q-Symphony and SpaceFit Sound working harmoniously together to optimise the sound for the room and place you at the heart of the action.”

Samsung Soundbar
The 2022 Samsung soundbar range includes some Ultra Slim Soundbars which can deliver quality sound
but they only measure 1.6-inches in depth.

Slim design fits in well

As it’s become common for people to mount their TVs on walls, there’s a lot of interest in soundbars which can offer a complementary and slim design. The new S800B and S801B Ultra Slim Soundbars are able to do this by still delivering on the sound quality but they measure just 1.6-inches in depth.

They’re able to deliver the same level of sound performance as existing, larger soundbars via Samsung’s proprietary technology. They still have a strong bass sound and they do this by integrating passive radiator technology with the subwoofer and with speaker channels. The slim, minimalist design is the style many people are after as they sit easily underneath the TV or they can be integrated as a separate, standalone speaker.

Samsung soundbars support HDMI eARC Connection, Tap Sound and third-party connectivity features including Alexa, AirPlay 2 and built-in Chromecast ability, offering ease of use with casting.

Works with Alexa

You can control your music, get information and manage your day, hands-free. Just ask Alexa to play something by simply saying a few lines of the song’s lyrics and Alexa will play the song for you, via the soundbar.

You can seamlessly use your Samsung soundbar with your Apple devices – AirPlay 2 lets you play music and podcasts to your Soundbar from your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. You can tap or click the AirPlay icon, and choose Soundbar to play audio from your Apple device.
