Celeste Barber, Comedian, Actor and Social Media sensation to headline UN Women Australia’s International Women’s Day Events in 2025.
UN Women Australia has announced that internationally acclaimed comedian, actor, and author Celeste Barber will headline its 2025 International Women’s Day (IWD) events on March 7. Known for her viral #CelesteChallengeAccepted campaign, Celeste will bring her signature wit and social commentary to a live conversation in Sydney, streamed to audiences across Australia and online. This event also marks the 30th anniversary of the UN Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action on gender equality, expected to draw over 10,000 attendees.
Celeste shared her excitement, saying: “History shows change only comes when you kick up a stink. I’m pumped to join UN Women Australia in this crucial conversation as I’m well versed in ruffling some feathers and striving for equality and change.”

UN Women Australia’s IWD series raises crucial funds to support and empower women and girls globally. The national lineup will also feature diverse thought leaders and activists, joining past speakers like Dr. Jane Goodall, Grace Tame, and Mellody Hobson.
Business Chicks will host a breakfast from 8am to 10.30am on Tuesday March 11, 2025 at the Sheraton Grand. The speaker is yet to be announced.
Property Council of Australia will host the International Women’s Day ‘Longest Lunch’, on Friday 7 March 2025. The guest speaker will be Anna Meares OAM – Olympic gold medallist at 4 consecutive Olympic Games, flag bearer in 2016 and Chef de Mission of the 2024 Australian Olympic team.
