Can you give us a little background on your career to date?
I have worked for over 25 years as a journalist and TV producer, and am the founder and publisher of the lifestyle website TheCarousel.com.
Before setting up my own business, I worked as the Publisher and Editor of Australia’s three biggest flagship magazine brands – The Australian Women’s Weekly, Woman’s Day and New Idea.
As Group Publisher of Bauer Media Group’s most successful and profitable magazines, I ran Woman’s Day, Good Health, Grazia and the prestigious Hearst Magazine titles – Harper’s BAZAAR, Cosmopolitan and Madison.
Prior to that, I was Lifestyle Editor for the Seven Network’s Sunrise and Editor-In-Chief of both The Australian Women’s Weekly and New Idea.
I began my career as a copy girl at News Limited and a graduate cadet at AAP Reuters in Sydney. At age 23, I worked on Fleet Street as a feature writer and consumer columnist at the News International newspaper Today in London. I moved to Los Angeles for two years and was the US correspondent for Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast. I later returned to the UK and ran the entertainment desk for GMTV, Britain’s biggest breakfast show with a weekly audience of 16 million.
