The gold HUAWEI Watch GT3 is elegant and sleek and has the feel of a fashionable dress watch but is still sturdy enough to wear night and day and has impressive functionality particularly when it comes to your health management.

For me, I’m not new to the HUAWEI smart watches and recently swapped my previous HUAWEI Band 6 for the latest version.

Gold is my colour when it comes to watches, even jewellery, so the new gold rim and mesh band matches perfectly.

But it’s the GT3’s ability to track my health with continuous, real-time and accurate blood oxygen saturation, sleep, heart rate and stress monitoring features for my everyday health management which ticks all the boxes. Plus you can wear it all day without worrying about running out of charge which is extremely useful because let’s face it, who wants to get stuck not knowing the time?

One thing HUAWEI is famous for is producing smart watches and smart phones with long battery life, and the GT3 series lives up to the brand’s reputation with up to 14 days of juice, which sets it apart from many other smart watches on the market.

It also supports both Android and iOS devices which is important given I use an Apple iPhone.

One feature I am getting used to is the fact it supports Bluetooth calls and SMS messages from your wrist, and it still seems odd answering a call on your watch and feeling a vibration every time you receive an email or SMS notification. But this really comes down to personal preference, and you can easily switch off notifications you don’t want and, for me it’s the activity tracking I find most useful.

Below is a screen shot of the grid on the GT3 and you can see it’s packed to the brim.

It’s highly customisable to suit your needs. You can, for instance, choose from a wide selection of custom watch faces. It’s also fun exploring the multiple options available to you from the sleep monitoring function, the breathing and relaxation apps and handy stuff such as a torch for when you are caught in the dark.

The GT3 series has more third party apps than in previous smart watch versions and you can choose from travel, entertainment, music, fitness, health and even gaming. In all, there are over 100 work out modes covering professional workouts from hiking, open water swimming, skiing, golf, jogging, walking, swimming, rowing machine and the list goes on. If I’m sitting down too long, I even get a notification to get up and move.

The watch is intuitive to use and easy to set up with the HUAWEI health app and it features a rotating crown with tactile feedback, making it work with high-precision finger movement using the chessboard design of the launcher being able to be moved and zoomed freely in a fluid way.

It’s almost like having a silent personal trainer that’s keeping tabs on your 24/7 which for me comes in handy when I’m spending too much time as a couch potato on a rainy day. So all in all, the new HUAWEI Watch GT3 gets the thumbs up for me and Women Love Tech has given it a five out of five star rating.

HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 Series: AU$299 for 42mm Black, $399 for 42mm Gold Milanese Strap, $349 for 42mm White Leather Strap.
