We all love listening to our favourite podcasts and audiobooks on our commute, on a run, or other times when we’re alone. But sometimes, you want the audio loud and clear at home as you’re making dinner with your partner, or just available to you in any room in your home. To make the latter scenario even more pleasantly plausible, you now have AirPlay 2 on Sonos speakers and devices.

Apple AirPlay 2 being available on Sonos essentially means that the sounds from any app on your iOS devices (could be music, podcasts, radio, video, audiobooks etc.) can now be streamed directly to Sonos speakers including Sonos Beam, Sonos One, Playbase, and the second generation Play:5. And, with a single supported speaker, AirPlay content can be streamed to other Sonos speakers in the system. You can also ask Siri to play any track, album, or playlist on Apple Music by using an iOS device to start playing on Sonos. It doesn’t get easier than that!

The new Sonos Beam is the smart speaker for your living room. It supports more than 80 streaming services; Amazon Alexa comes built in, with future support for multiple voice assistants including Google Assistant. At only 25.6 inches long (it weighs 2.8 kg) and available in black or white with a curved silhouette, the Sonos Beam is made to seamlessly blend into your home surroundings.

You can control Sonos Beam with your voice, the Sonos app, your existing TV remote, your favourite music app etc. (you can also use wifi to easily connect Sonos speakers in different rooms to create a home sound system).
